Here you will find academic resources and advice to help you both succeed academically, and avoid committing a violation of the Rice University Honor Code.
Your best Honor Code resources are your professor and your syllabus!
If you have a question or concern about the Honor Code for your class, always make sure to check your syllabus for clarifying information. If you still have questions after looking over your syllabus, contact your professor. If you’d like more information about citation styles or Honor Codes, feel free to look at the list below.

The Chicago Manual of style is a wonderful citation guide. Here, you can find out the proper way to cite any fact or data point whether it comes from a book, the internet, or television. Follow the formats on this website whenever you are unsure of how to correctly include a citation in your paper.
2. The University of Chicago Writing Program
This site offers guidelines on writing craft with everything from grammar aids to style guides.
3. Rice Center for Written, Oral, and Visual Communication
This is Rice University’s own writing resource center. Connections to tutors and professors are also available here.
4. Columbia University Biology Department Lab Report Writing Guide
This website gives guidelines for writing a standard lab report, including how to cite sources properly for scientific writing.
